April was full of momentum at Correa Equity Partners—projects wrapped up, new opportunities emerged, and we’re setting the stage for what’s next. We even leased our first company car! Here’s a look behind the scenes:
Edmonton Project Highlights
Flip Project: Finished & For Sale
We wrapped up our latest flip and it’s officially on the market! I flew to Edmonton to walk the property, address final touch-ups, and see it fully staged. The transformation has been amazing, and the feedback from prospective buyers has been really positive.
That said, the spring thaw revealed a yard in need of some love—something buyers noticed. So we stepped up: added sod, removed old garden beds and a partial fence, leveled the space, and added fresh mulch, an ornamental tree, and some simple plants. The mature trees are just starting to bloom, giving the outdoor space a fresh and welcoming vibe. The result – our project is now pending!

Infill #1 – Asbestos Abatement Done
Over at our Westwood infill project, we completed asbestos abatement on both the house and garage. The stucco was carefully removed, air quality tested, and we received full clearance—an important and costly step done right. Up next: removing utility meters and then, demolition begins!
Infill #2 – Gaining Ground
Our Idylwylde infill is moving along faster than expected. We’re currently waiting on permits and for our tenant to vacate, and then we’re off to the races.
Another Calgary Property Sold!
Back in 2021, we bought a Calgary bungalow with an illegal suite, partnered with Mike and Allie, and turned it into a legal, cash-flowing investment. After solid appreciation and performance, we decided it was time to sell and reinvest the capital elsewhere. The deal closes this week!

A Flip That Didn’t Make the Cut
Not every project moves forward—and that’s okay. We had a promising flip under contract in a great neighbourhood backing onto a golf course. But after evaluating the renovation budget and expected resale value, the numbers just didn’t leave enough margin for a profit.
In investing, it’s not just about spotting opportunity—it’s knowing when to walk away. We look at dozens of deals to find the right ones for our portfolio.

Trading Highlights – Volatility & Community
It’s been nearly two years since I started trading futures with Trust Your Talent, and it’s been a great way to generate mostly passive monthly income. April’s markets were particularly volatile—one press conference by a certain president would shake everything!

Travel Highlight – Cabin Time
We escaped to our cabin for Easter weekend. It’s not fancy, but it’s one of our favourite places—quiet, remote, and perfect for unplugging. We read, played games, roasted hot dogs and s’mores, and soaked up the peace.
